Voluntary work for Animal Care (dogs) in Copenhagen

I would like to volunteer for some animal-care/pet-care work (dogs). Is there something that you can guide me with so as for me to do something gratifying during the weekends?? I can try to devote some time once a week or at least once every fortnight for 2-3 hours a day, depending on what's needed of me. I live at Islands Brygge.

The following place is out in the Copenhagen suburb of Ejby, but it does what you're looking for:

They are always eager for volunteers to work with the animals they take in, they especially need help in the mornings from 8-13:00. They are also looking for an assistant to the vet (volunteer only position).

Thank you very much Brian!! Your help is much appreciated... The only problem is that the website is in Danish so I need to consult a local friend to assist me with the translation...
