welcome to the club :-) it is difficult to be in a foreign country, specially if you do not know local language.

Jan was made redundant from his job a week before Christmas,so we are back to square one again. It took him 2 and a half years to get this job because he is treated as a foreigner by the danes here.I am even lookinfg at going back to England to do some contract work. Please tell me you have some good news. That would be so good to hear.....

hello there!

Yes i am still here. No job of course. i gave up learning the language officially and now teach myself just by listening to Danish TV all the time. Reading danish newspapers, and I am much more relaxed about it.I know i cant speak perfect but i never will so quite happy to make huge mistakes and just speak Danish as good as I posssibly can. My husband at last found a job this year in the kommune,it was a hard winter for him as a postman!!He is much happier. it is now my turn. I am going to start self employed here as a therapist. It may not work but i have to try something. How about you.

Hi, nothing new to report. I have been undertaking a sundhedssprog kursus online from Roskilde and that has been excelllent,I am travelling into Copenhagen with my son next week to take my medical papers to be asssessed by the Danish health board. i have been telephonig for jobs, but no luck. my poor husband is now cleaning for a few weeks, can you believe such a qualified Dane can be treatd this way,no one will give him a chance despite his qualifications and years of experience in england. This would never happen to a dane moving to England.....

Dear Ljiljana,
thank you for your posting, and sorry about the late response!! Yes, I actually know a lot about the "Integrations and Oplæringsstillinger" in Copenhagen City/Københavns Kommune, as I am the project manager behind them :-)
We will post around 30 positions in May on www.kk.dk/jobtildig and you apply to them individually (says in each what it is about and the requirements). I hope you find one or more relevant for you!!!
Best, Jens
