Danish Bank account without CPR number?

Hi there,  I have recently moved to Copenhagen and I am finding myself in a slightly difficult position. I am not yet able to get a residence permit and therefore can't get a CPR number but I have been told by the Regional State Administration that this should not stop me from working or getting a bank account. However I have had to turn down 2 job interviews because I don't yet have a CPR number and I have had banks telling me that I can't open a bank account without a CPR number either?! Can…See More

My girlfriend is studying here at the university of southern Denmark in Odense so I am spending more and more time here. I am on the brink of registering for residency and looking for work here etc.
